How To Print Using Google Cloud Print

Google cloud is such a great technology that allows you to print files. You can print files from any device and anywhere. No matter if you are on the same WiFi network or not. This one is a great way to print from an Android device because it’s built into Android itself. So you don’t need to download or manage any kind of third-party software.

If you want to use Google cloud print then follow these steps

  • Adding A Printer To Google Cloud Print

If you want to use your printer through cloud print then you need to add it to the service.

Before following the steps, ensure that your printer is on and your printer and Android device both are connected to your WiFi networks.

 

  • Go to settings then go to android phone. After that, in the search box type ‘Printing’. and Tap there.
  • you will find this setting in setting > Connected devices > Connection preferences > Printing.
  • Now Tap on cloud print.
  • Tap on the menu and then select add printer on the top right-hand corner.
  • Automatically cloud printers will search for the printers to the WiFi network.
  • When you Tap on the printer it will connect and you are ready to go.

 

How To Print Using Google Cloud Print

After adding the printer to your google cloud print, you can easily print a file or image from your android phone by using Google cloud print.

  • For the file or photo, you want to print, navigate there. It might be an email from the Gmail app, an image that you’ve found in google chrome, or anything else.
  • Tap the three-dot menu and find a similar option to either print the document or to Export.
  • If it’s not there you need to save an image or file to your gallery or device and navigate to it through the Android Files app or Google Photos app to print it.
  • Tap on print.
  • Cloud print will automatically connect to the printer that you added but if you added more then just tap on the printer you want to use.
  • Now choose the print size and copies you want to print. If you tap on the down arrow you can select more options. So according to your taste, you can print a colorful or black and white image. And so on.

Method 1

 

  • Open your Email client and then you need to create a new email.
  • To the field type the printer’s email address.
  • Then Tap on the Attach button.
  • For the file, you want to print, click there.
  • you will find this in the default Files app on your phone, Google Drive, Google Photos, or a third-party app. 
  • Just find out where it is located to attach it and print it.
  • Press the send button after it has been attached.

  • By navigating to the Files app, Google Photos, Google Drive, or a third-party app, Find the image or file you want to print.

  • Then tap the share button.
  • You have to “Send a copy” in some apps, like in Google Docs.
  • Now scroll down to your email client, and tap the icon.
  • in the “To” field, type the printer’s email address.

Here we will tell you how to use Google Cloud Print to print from Android. In this service, You can print from any device on any location and not only in android so long as your target printer was registered with Google and connected to the internet.

They lacked native printing support so It mainly targeted Chromebooks. But it has changed now because nowadays the modern printers are internet friendly so Google Cloud Print is not necessary.

Google depreciated Cloud Print in December 2020, After offering the service as a beta for just over 10 years. You will not be able to use Google cloud print as of January 1, 2021.

Google has a list of printing partners, including Directprint.io and PaperCut.

 

Use The Default Print Service

Android will detect your printer, With modern Wi-Fi-enabled printers if both devices are on the same local network.

We will tell you how to enable the Default Print Service feature and print from Google Photos.

 

Step 1

Ensure that the Wi-Fi printer and Android device both are connected to the same local network.

 

Step 2

Tap the gear icon by pulling down the shade on the android device. It will open the setting panel.

 

Step 3

Now tap on the connected device.

 

Step 4

Then, you need to tap Connection Preferences.

Use The Printer’s Cloud Service

Nowadays so many printers have cloud print components. For instance, Epson printers include an Epson Connect service that allows you to print from anywhere by sending an email directly to the printer. That has an email address that is created during the printer’s initial setup process.

You can use the manufacturer’s app or You can use any email client to print or take the shortcut. We will use the Epson iPrint app for Android as an example because it’s the printer we have on hand.

 

Use The Manufacturer’s App

You’ll get an idea of how the process will run, though there might be some differences depending on the printer’s manufacturer and the apps that they provide.

 

Step 1

In the Epson iprint you can see 5 services like Print photos, print documents, print from the cloud, scan, and document capture.

If you want to add a registered Epson printer. Then tap the blue Printer is Not Selected banner.

 

Step 2

If you stay at home, then Under the Local tab, the printer will appear. And if you want to print remotely then tap the remote tab.

 

Step 3

Tap Add located at the bottom.

 

Step 4

Tap Yes on the prompt to acknowledge that a communication charge may be applied depending on your network environment.

 

Step 5

The printer’s email address that you created during the initial setup process, enter there. It will likely end with the print.epsonconnect.com address. And if you didn’t create one earlier, tap Get Email Address

 

Step 6

Tap Done and the app will add the printer.

 

Step 7

Tap one of the services to the main screen. like Print Photos. Select the photos you want to print and follow the prompts.

 

Use an email app

 

As our email example, we used Gmail for these steps since so many people use the web-based provider. 

On the platform the steps might be different, that you do use, you should still be able to print a range of files using your email so long as the email address itself is valid and the printer can be found online. 

You can print a variety of files just like Word (doc, docx), Excel (xls, xlsx), PowerPoint (ppt, pptx), PDF, JPEG, GIF, BMP, PNG, and TIFF.

 

Step 1

First, open Gmail and tap the Compose button.

Enter the printer’s email address, in the to the field, For our example printer, this address ends with print.epsonconnect.com.

Now attach the image or document you want to print. you can easily attach 20 files or up to 20MB.

Want to add text to the email body, then it prints as a separate document. On the printer, In Tray 2 text is printed on paper. while the emailed image is printed on paper in Tray 1.*

 

Step 4

Now tap the ‘paper airplane’ icon to complete. so the printer will come and start spitting out your file in a minute or two.

 

Note

If you are viewing a file using its default app, like a picture in the Google Photos app, then tap the share button then tap your Preferred email client on the roll-up menu. So you don’t need to attach the file manually.
